About the project
Rockfin aimed to showcase its electrolyser system capabilities, demonstrate commitment to hydrogen through an unsubsidized project, and contribute to the decarbonization of the industry.
Stargate supported their entrance in the hydrogen market by developing a tailor-made pressurised alkaline electrolyser stack, build to fit Rockfin’s balance of plant. Besides the delivery of the stack, Stargate provided integration support from start to finish.
This was the first integration project for both Stargate and Rockfin, the main challenge was to ensure that both companies were aligned on their approach and development methods to implement the Stargate’s Stellar stack with the minimum friction.
The result was not only the creation of Rockfin’s new product, the Mini Green box, but also the birth of what we now call the ROCKSTAR TEAM, a combination of both companies’ names that reflects the amazing synergy between our teams, stretching from project management to engineering.
About Rockfin
Rockfin sp z.oo is a world-leading engineering company from Poland with projects in more than 100 countries, it was founded in 1991 and grew to more than 1000 employees, 500 active clients and secured more than 6.200 contracts.
In its 20.000 m2 of production area, has the capability to the design, manufacture, test and service oil and fuel systems for gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, compressors, high-pressure drives and control systems.
In 2022 Rockfin started its journey towards becoming an alkaline electrolyser system integrator, and chose Stargate stack as the heart of their systems.
Why Stargate
Rockfin explored multiple stack suppliers but initially couldn’t find the ideal partner. Then Stargate’s pressurized alkaline stack not only exhibited excellent compatibility but also provided comprehensive support from the first meeting and throughout the integration process. Moreover, the stack’s configurability and the prospect of utilising Stargate’s novel catalyst, STARDUST influenced their decision.

The Outcome
The integrated system made its public debut at the Poznan Fair in Poland in May 2023. The company successfully developed the Mini-Green box system, laying the foundation for future hydrogen production systems. The Mini-Green Box is now available for sale, providing industries with an option to embark on their hydrogen journey.

The partnership led to mutual growth. Stargate elevated its safety standards, while Rockfin gained valuable insights into electrolysis. The collaboration achieved its objectives and set the stage for continuous innovation in the field of green hydrogen production.
