Electrolyser manufacturers letter to the European Commission

On 31st of January 2023, Stargate and 20 other leading Electrolyser manufacturers in the European electrolyser ecosystem sent an open letter (see the full letter here) to the European Commission concerning the development of a European green hydrogen value chain.

The main aim of the letter is to ensure a level playing field for European manufacturers in the context of the electrolyser scale-up strategy and the upcoming "Green Deal Industrial Plan". The letter emphasizes the importance of keeping the EU public funds in Europe where it contributes to creating industry and jobs in the region.

Secondly, the letter recommends considering ESG and European standards while developing funding mechanisms for the hydrogen value chain. Furthermore, the letters suggest that publicly funded projects shall contribute to creating regional centres of excellence and consider sustainability aspects such as recycling and full value chain CO2 emissions.
